Welcome to Mayfield CTC – based in the heart of Mayfield
A CTC (Community Training Centre) provides training, education and employment related services for young people in a friendly and informal manner. Our centre is based in Mayfield, we offer our service to anyone in Cork aged between 16-21. We aim to educate particularly early school leaver and the unwaged. Mayfield CTC provide fresh opportunities for young people to gain national certification (equivalent to the Leaving Certificate) in a 2 year timeframe. Learning is all at your own pace with the support of our friendly and dedicated team.
We provide a selection of six core courses, allowing you to choose based on your personal interests and/or career aspirations. Our course options include: Office Skills, Culinary, Construction, Sports & Recreation, Hospitality and Woodwork.
Students have additional classes in Communications, Personal Effectiveness, Math’s, I.T and Art. We also offer coding, Animation and Music classes as part of our S.P.H.E curriculum.
For individuals under 18, you are eligible for a weekly training allowance of €45 . For those aged between 18 to 21 a higher training allowance of €232 per week is paid weekly.
Advocate Services: Your Personal Path to Success
Our dedicated advocate offers one-on-one career guidance and support from the very beginning. The service provides help with discovering your likes and interest. Our Advocate helps with work experience placements and progression onto future courses, as well as finding employment and researching grants available to you.
